I'm usually an 8M in Clarks sandals, and I have many pairs. These are super comfortable and cute. However, the sole don't d extend past my toes a little longer than I'd expect (not like clown shoes-level though). My foot width *just* fits in the strap that goes over the foot near the toes, so if I had tried going down a half size, that part would have pinched. I do like the adjustable strap with buckle. As I'm writing this review, the shoes are returnable, so you might try a couple of sizes and return whatever doesn't fit. I'm thinking of getting these in more colors!!
